With a core drill in the direction of the vault: the police catch burglars

A gang of bank burglars has been caught red-handed by the Berlin police.
The four men wanted to break into the vault of a bank in Königs Wusterhausen (Brandenburg) southeast of Berlin on Sunday night to break open customer lockers, the Berlin police said on Tuesday.
To do this, the gang wanted to break through a wall with a core drill.
Berlin – Before they could do that, a police special task force (SEK) surprised the men at around 2 a.m. and arrested them.
The Berlin State Criminal Police Office had previously investigated the gang.
On Monday, a judge issued arrest warrants for the four men, aged between 30 and 33.
Further suspects are being sought.
The men are said to belong to a gang that has been breaking into banks in different compositions for years in order to clear the customer lockers in the vaults.
One of them has already been charged with breaking into a savings bank branch in Berlin-Frohnau in October 2020.
At that time, five hooded burglars entered the bank through a toilet window, broke open six lockers and stole cash, precious metals and jewelry worth around 960,000 euros.
Police apprehended four suspects, who were charged.
The booty was gone.
