Against the background of the escalation in Judea and Samaria, the Central Command will hold two situation assessments in the next day regarding the security preparations for Yom Kippur.

Last night (Monday), the commander of the command, Major General Yehuda Fox, asked to specify the reinforcement of IDF forces during the day, with the aim of ambushing militants who leave mainly from refugee camps in Nablus to carry out shooting attacks.

Tomorrow Major General Fox will conduct a situation assessment in the Judea and Samaria Division, and will place operational emphasis on the ongoing security activities of the defense On the axes and the settlements during Yom Kippur, a military official from the Judea and Samaria Division said, "The eyes are rightly on Samaria, but the Judea Division also has increased activity in Hebron every night to thwart attempts to carry out attacks.

By definition, the sector is quiet, but no one is waiting for something to happen in Jenin or Nablus."

According to security officials, from an analysis of all the events and what is happening in the refugee camps in Jenin and Nablus, there are hundreds of armed men, most of them untrained with weapons and without organizational affiliation, who may carry out a spontaneous shooting attack.

This constitutes a significant challenge for the intelligence agencies, who try to trace the organization in real time and issue a warning.

Therefore, it was decided to carry out a field analysis based on intelligence, sectorial history and ground analysis in order to place effective ambushes, especially in the Samaria region - such as the ambush of the Golani patrol, which succeeded in killing a terrorist on a motorcycle and wounding other squad members on the outskirts of Nablus.

The IDF forces will operate in the area of the cities, towns and villages in Judea and Samaria, and when there is intelligence information they will also operate, if necessary, in the heart of the refugee camps. According to security officials, if there is no change on the ground and the Palestinian security mechanisms that have begun to carry out increased activity in the territories will not be effective, security system officials will be forced to impose Movement restrictions, first on Nablus and the surrounding area, in order to reduce the freedom of action of the armed men.

Similar ideas were presented to Defense Minister Benny Gantz, but according to them they did not mature into a decision. Accordingly, the IDF is preparing for the possibility that Chief of Staff Lt. Col. Aviv Kochavi will lead On the reinforcement of additional forces in the IOSH for the needs of a broad operation in Samaria against the background of the fear of further security deterioration.

The police was prepared in advance especially in the cities involved, based on lessons learned from the events of the previous years.

The police said that in the run-up to Yom Kippur there is special vigilance in everything related to respecting religious feelings.

"We are prepared with increased forces that will be stationed, among other things, in areas that we know are prone to friction," Deputy Chief Nir Jember, commander of the Acre station, told Wala.

He stated that his station will be reinforced by the Border Guard and will work fully. He stated that there is no concrete intelligence information about an intention to sabotage the sanctity of the holiday in Acre. We will know how to handle them accordingly even before a disaster happens."

According to him, the police have been working with the local community for a long time, especially before the holidays.

"We held meetings with sheikhs, rabbis, municipality representatives, public representatives, public opinion leaders, etc., in order for this period to pass in an optimal way and on Yom Kippur this means that everyone who fasts on this day is respected," said Jember.

"Operationally, the police divided the city into two parts, one of which is Old Acre and its immediate surroundings, 99 percent of whose residents are Muslims who do not fast on Yom Kippur. We will allow them to exit towards Highway 4, but from the center of the city and to the north we will set up checkpoints, which means that the northern entrance and the eastern entrance to Acre will be closed with a checkpoint Rigid. There will be additional barriers inside the city that will allow anyone who prays and fasts to do so safely."

Regarding the preparation of his police officers, the commander of the Acre station shared an innovation that he is very proud of, "This is the first year that we have organized so that every police officer at the station who celebrates Yom Kippur and fasts, we allow him to be at home on this day,
