An agricultural farm caught fire on the night of Yom Kippur in the village of "Machola" in the Jordan Valley, it is suspected to be a deliberate arson (Shomron regional station spokesman)

An agricultural farm caught fire last night (Tuesday) in Moshav Mahola in the Jordan Valley, it is suspected that this was deliberate arson.

11 fire crews from several stations helped extinguish the fire.

The owner of the farm, Dor Shemer, told about the incident in a Facebook post.

"Yom Kippur, 1:30 at night, an alarm about a fire in a packing house and a refrigerator in a hospital. Our family's life's work burned before our eyes," he wrote.

"Security cameras clearly show two masked men setting fire to the place. Rescue, fire, army, and police forces arrived to deal with the fire. An army tracker followed the tracks of the terrorists, the tracks ended inside the village of Ein El Bida," Shemar continued.

"Of course the army will not enter because it is all about an agricultural farm that destroyed his world. And the reason for the arson is completely clear, this is a nationalist event against a Jewish agricultural farm."

According to Shemer, that evening they finished packing the goods that were supposed to be marketed at the end of Yom Kippur.

"This is a product worth a lot of money that was completely burned. I am heartbroken for Father and Nebo who have been running the business for so many years with dedication, and I am heartbroken again because no one will do anything in our country to prevent something like this from happening here again."

The head of the Jordan Valley Regional Council, David Alhiani, said in response to the arson: "Another very painful incident of agricultural terrorism, another family whose world has been destroyed and precisely on Yom Kippur. How much cruelty and evil can one absorb? I call on the security forces and the Israeli government to deal seriously and truthfully with the phenomenon of agricultural terrorism that we are experiencing This is where we live. This time it ended up with property worth millions, but unfortunately we will not be surprised if one morning we wake up to an event that may also cost human lives."

Deputy Tafsar Avishai Shapir, commander of the Shomron regional station, said that the report of the fire was received during the night.

"When the teams arrived at the scene, they identified a central building in the farm that is used, among other things, to store goods before marketing that is on fire," he said.

"It is a very large fire load, the firefighters immediately started extinguishing operations. The main extinguishing efforts were to contain the fire so that it would not spread to nearby buildings and greenhouses."
