Money is missing: The bridge at the mouth of the Deixlfurter Bach in the Schwarzen Graben in Traubing, which is considered to be in need of renovation, will only be renewed in a few years.

Contrary to many expectations, there are probably not enough state funds available for the Traubing village renewal for the time being.

However, the ministry announces the call for tenders for the central measure for next year.

Traubing

– The village renewal Traubing is an ongoing procedure of the Office for Rural Development (ALE) Upper Bavaria, which was initiated in 2012.

Since then, many locals have worked intensively for this project, for example in a "participant community" chaired by Johannes Mühlbauer from the ALE.

After repeated delays, Tutzing's mayor, Marlene Greinwald, saw cause for optimism at a town meeting in May.

But now that confidence has been tarnished again.

The sobering conclusion of Thomas Geiger, member of the board and spokesman for the community of participants: In the next one to two years there should not be enough funds available for the village renewal of Traubing.

At a meeting of the community of participants, a reason was given, reports their board member Dr.

Franz Matheis, Tutzing's third mayor: A lot of money flowed into the region of the G7 summit in June at Schloss Elmau in Krün (Garmisch-Partenkirchen district).

For 2023 there are therefore not so many financial resources.

Several other participants in the meeting have confirmed this information to Starnberger Merkur.

When asked, however, the ALE denies a causal connection between the implementation of measures in Traubing and the G7 summit "to the extent that there are delays in the implementation of measures in Traubing".

The responsible Bavarian Ministry of Agriculture made a similar statement: A delay due to other ongoing village renewal processes was not the case.

The ministry even announces that the central measure in Traubing will be advertised for next year.

However, the availability of budget funds in 2023 is the "determining factor" for the start of village renewal measures, confirms the ALE.

The municipality of Tutzing also has to bear 50 percent of the costs – and it is not yet clear to what extent the municipality will have financial resources available in 2023.

A cost agreement between her and the community of participants still has to be concluded.

In Traubing, many also regret the containment of originally larger measures.

The current planning area concerns a redesign of Weilheimer Strasse from the "Alten Wirt" to Birkenstrasse.

The central measure is the renovation of the bridge at the war memorial as well as other smaller road sections and bridge structures at the confluence of the Deixlfurter Bach in the Schwarzen Graben.

The ministry estimates the need for funding at 1.3 million euros.

Other initially targeted measures are no longer in focus: on Starnberger Straße, on Weilheimer Straße south of Birkenstraße and footpath connections.

The ALE explains that the community of participants is carrying out the planning.

A "downsizing" could be considered to be quite sensible, but is not related to the financial situation of the community and the ALE.

With regard to the long delays, the ministry refers to the reconstruction of the cemetery wall that collapsed in 2017 and changes to the planning scope.

The Weilheimer Strasse section is larger than originally planned.

The measure has been taken into account in the long-term financial planning of the ALE since the beginning of the village renewal.

So far, the office has provided around 50,000 euros in funding for planning services.

Mayor Greinwald seems sober: "Now we could build - but now it's failing again because of the money." She is resolute: "We're planning further." I don’t expect construction to start before 2024 or 2025.”
