100,000 families in Al-Hasakah governorate benefited from the sale of sugar and rice, which the branch of the Syrian Trading Corporation began distributing to citizens at a subsidized price in early August, for the first time since the start of the terrorist war on Syria.

The people who benefited from the sales operations that take place through the Syrian outlets for trade in the cities of Hasaka and Qamishli, assured SANA reporter the importance of the support provided to them in light of the current circumstances and the economic war being waged on Syria, and the procedures and practices of the American and Turkish occupation forces in the province, pointing out that the operations of distributing sugar and rice At a subsidized price that does not exceed a thousand pounds per kilogram of the two substances, it has been well received, and the success of the experiment requires expanding it to include larger numbers of beneficiaries in various regions of the governorate, and working in the future to localize the smart card system for distributing food and living materials in the governorate.

For his part, the director of the Syrian branch of trade, Omar Hammo, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the branch, with the aim of reducing overcrowding, which may occur during sales of subsidized sugar and rice, has opened ten outlets in the cities of Hasaka and Qamishli, and organized distribution operations according to nominal schedules that include the names of the beneficiaries on a daily basis and the allocated quantities. They are subject to the numerical segments system for family members, according to what is documented in each family book.

For his part, a member of the Executive Office of the Internal Trade Sector, Muhammad Al-Kayin, indicated that the governorate will submit a proposal soon to the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, which includes the need to increase the number of beneficiaries of distribution operations in Al-Hasakah governorate from 100,000 families to 150,000, according to the availability of capabilities, with the aim of Reaching the largest number of citizens and supporting them with sugar and rice in light of the exceptional circumstances the governorate is going through.
