2,741 people were treated during Yom Kippur by MDA throughout the country Israel today

285 people were injured and needed medical treatment due to injury from riding bicycles, rollerblades, scooters and skateboards • 268 fainted, dehydrated and felt sick due to the fast • 133 mothers were transferred to the hospitals


The MDA medics and paramedics worked hard on Yom Kippur, as every year. This year, they provided medical treatment to 2,741 people across the country. 1,920 of them were sent to the hospitals for further treatment. 268 of them fainted, became dehydrated and felt ill due to the fast.

It wasn't calm on the roads either: a 33-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured by a vehicle on Route 4 near the Alof Sade interchange, a 19-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in Tira and a 19-year-old man was seriously injured in a car accident in a parking lot near Gadot Forest.

In addition, another 24 injured in road accidents throughout the country were treated, of which 5 were moderate and 19 were minor.

37 people were injured in violent incidents that happened throughout the country, including 1 moderate and 36 minor injuries.

MDA teams were also called to transfer 133 mothers to the hospitals.

One of them was given birth by MDA teams in Jerusalem.

MDA's blood services provided the hospitals in Israel with 147 doses and components of blood during Yom Kippur.
