The leaseholders of the "Schützenwirt" only stayed in Ellbach for three years.

The owner is now looking for a new host.

And there are more changes to come.

Ellbach

– Just three years after the innkeepers Heike Welker and Ousman Darbo took over the “Schützenwirt” in Ellbach, they are again looking for a new tenant.

The economy has been closed again since August 31 and was recently cleared out.

The owner, GSK Ellbach, will first renew the kitchen and replace the heating.

"Schützenwirt" Ellbach: Tenants moved on to Oberhaching

GSK board member Martin Grünwalder explained in an interview with the Tölzer Kurier that the previous tenants were on good terms.

"We were very satisfied, there were no discrepancies," he says.

The tenants would also have paid the lease, which was deferred during the Corona period, down to the last penny.

The main problem of the landlords was the lack of staff, says Grünwalder.

Heike Welker herself says on request: "There were simply too many crises at the time." She and her partner took over the "Schützenwirt" on November 1, 2019 - just a few months before the first corona lockdown.

The couple are now running “something more crisis-proof”, as Heike Welker says: They have taken over the “Bistro Miss Sophie” in Oberhaching, where, according to Welker, the employees from the surrounding offices like to stop for lunch.

Bavarian cuisine not a mandatory requirement for "Schützenwirt"

The guest target group at the "Schützenwirt" in Ellbach is of course a completely different one, as Grünwalder from GSK describes.

It is a village economy.

Accordingly, it is also important to the GSK as the lessor that the local clubs are welcome at the inn, for example for rehearsals of the traditional costume club.

However, it is also a challenge to serve a large number of guests on weekends when the weather is nice.

"Then the garden is full, and sometimes you have to put 60, 70 or 80 meals on the table.

The landlord has to be able to handle that.”

In general, GSK is happy about every prospective tenant.

There have already been initial inquiries, but you are welcome to continue to contact us.

The fact that the future "Schützenwirt" serves Bavarian cuisine is not a mandatory requirement.

"It can also be Greek or Yugoslavian, for example." Every applicant is welcome.

It remains to be seen whether the future host will want to and be able to operate the hall, which offers space for up to 200 guests.

Time will also tell how the event life in the “Schützenwirt” develops in general.

Some traditional things like a Christmas tree auction may be difficult to revive.

The "Standlfest", to which the Ellbacher and Kirchbichler clubs invited in August on the "Schützenwirt" car park, was a complete success.

GSK Ellbach renewed heating and kitchen in the "Schützenwirt".

Before a new landlord moves in, GSK first wants to renovate the kitchen, with new flooring, tiles and electrics.

In addition, the old oil boiler will be removed and replaced with a pellet heating system.

"We decided that a year ago." Now the vacancy is being used to implement the measure without affecting ongoing operations.

The association partly covers the costs from its own reserves, but also receives financial help from the city of Bad Tölz and “considerable grants” from private association members.

It goes without saying that a lot is done in-house.

According to Grünwalder, everything should be ready in two months, so that the new host could ideally start operations on December 1st.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Bad Tölz newsletter.
