Opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu felt ill during the closing prayer he attended this evening (Wednesday) at the Great Synagogue in Jerusalem.
An intensive care vehicle was called to the scene and the staff performed tests on him on the spot.
In a statement published by his office, it was stated that the tests came out normal, and to be on the safe side, Netanyahu independently arrived at Shaare Zedek Hospital for further tests.

Even though Netanyahu lives a secular lifestyle, he usually fasts on Yom Kippur.
In about two weeks he is expected to celebrate his 73rd birthday, and as far as is known his health is generally good.
In February of this year, Netanyahu successfully underwent a medical procedure to crush a bladder stone.
This was the second time that Netanyahu underwent this procedure, after a stone was also discovered in his body in 2017.
In addition, in 2020 Netanyahu underwent a medical procedure to remove two polyps that were discovered in his colon.

Netanyahu makes sure to keep fit, and among other things, he was recently documented as part of the Likud campaign when he goes for sporty walks with his bodyguards in various cities in Israel.
Prime Minister Yair Lapid tweeted at the end of Yom Kippur on Twitter: "I wish Benjamin Netanyahu a speedy recovery and full recovery. Only health."
