Starnberg - Whether solo sonata or jazz, whether chamber music or symphony - with the dense and colorful sound of its wood, the clarinet is at home in the concert halls of the world almost everywhere.
The wind force 4 clarinet quartet will play an entertaining matinee on Sunday, October 9, at 11 a.m. in the Orlando Hall of the Starnberg Music School.
Flanked by the dark, wooden timbre of the bass clarinet and the E-flat clarinet in an airy high register, the four musicians play works from the baroque to the modern.
The program includes Albinoni's deathly beautiful Adagio in G minor, highlights from Kurt Weill's The Threepenny Opera, Ferenc Farkas' Hungarian Dances and a divertimento by Viennese composer Alfred Uhl.
Music will be played by Martina Fischer, Anne Hartung, Stefan Komarek and Elisabeth Schulz.
Admission is free.
