The Ethiopian government announced on Wednesday (October 5th) that it had responded favorably to an invitation from the African Union to participate in peace talks with the rebels in the Tigray region, without specifying the date and place.

The African Union has sent an invitation for peace talks.
The government of Ethiopia has accepted this invitation, in line with our principled position regarding the peaceful resolution of the conflict and the need for discussions without preconditions
