An exhibition of a group of Syrian plastic artists was opened today in the Russian capital, with the participation of some Russian plastic artists.

The exhibition was held in the gallery hall “Krylatsky Ornament” and included paintings that mimic the heritage, history and present in Syria, and came after an initiative by some Russian artists to display their plastic works in Syria.

In a statement to SANA's correspondent in Moscow, Minister Counselor at the Syrian Embassy in Moscow, Alaeddin Hamdan, said: The Syrian artists came to Moscow to present their artworks as a message to the world about the love and peace that characterize the Syrian people.

In turn, Aya Shehadeh, the cultural relations officer at the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus, considered that the Syrian society is close in its form and content to the Russian society, noting that the presented works emulate everything that combines Syria and Russia historically and in the future.

For her part, the director of the exhibition, Lilia Ustyugova, said: The Russian Cultural Center invited us to visit Syria, and we were received warmly and respectfully and we displayed a group of works, and therefore we decided with the Russian Cultural Center to repeat this experience in Russia, and we agreed to invite Syrian plastic artists and some Russian artists, Among them are academics, professionals and graduates of the Russian School of Plastic Art, confirming the success of this experiment, and the possibility of following it up between Syria and Russia in various fields.

Syrian plastic artist and sculptor Hossam Nasr considered holding this exhibition an opportunity to display the works of Syrian plastic artists in Russia.

Russian plastic artist, member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Dmitry Sindgiev, who has participated in more than 280 local and international exhibitions, affirmed that these exhibitions strengthen the bonds of friendship between peoples.

The exhibition, which continues until the 30th of this month, was visited by a crowd of Syrian students studying in Moscow, members of the Syrian community, and Arab and Russian citizens.
