Football fans rage on the train: 800 Ultras leave a trail of destruction through Bayreuth

Dynamo Dresden supporters escalated during a soccer game in Bayreuth.
Bottles and objects flew, a snack stand was destroyed - and a train compartment was devastated.
Bayreuth – Dynamo Dresden football supporters demolished a Deutsche Bahn train on the way home after a third division game.
Photos show the destruction on Saturday: torn folding tables, a splintered pane, graffiti and lots of rubbish.
Numerous stickers on the train show that Dynamo Dresden fan ultras are responsible for the vandalism.
They had previously attended the game against SpVgg Bayreuth (1-1).

According to estimates by the federal police in Selb in Upper Franconia, a group of around 800 people traveled together on the train.
A security service from the railways was on the regional train.
A police spokesman could not say yesterday why he did not sound the alarm.
Now the police are trying to identify perpetrators via cameras on the train.
Dresden fans had left a trail of devastation through Bayreuth in the hours before.
Pyrotechnics ignited on the way from the train station to the stadium, and a few cups and bottles flew in the direction of the police officers.
The cameras were snatched from a photographer - only the intervention of the police prevented worse.
In the second half, "the situation escalated after the restart," according to the police.

When the police intervened, they destroyed a food stand and used the pieces as projectiles.
The damage is estimated at 20,000 euros.
The police continue to write almost laconically: "The contents of the cash register in the amount of 5,000 to 10,000 euros have also been missing since then." A spokesman for Dynamo Dresden apologized for the fans.
The railway emphasizes that 3.5 million football fans are transported every year, mostly without problems.
However: The removal of dirt and vandalism costs around two million euros a year, and the polluters are rarely identified.
