A man from Germany is shot dead in a raid near Kruger National Park in South Africa.
According to one report, it is a Hessian.
Frankfurt/Cape Town - The German tourist who was shot dead in a raid near South Africa's Kruger National Park on Monday (October 3) is believed to be from Hesse.

The
Hessischer Rundfunk (hr)
was the first to report the man's origin, citing its own information.
The South African police had previously announced that the man's car, in which three other German tourists were sitting, had been stopped by three attackers on the way to the national park.
According to the British newspaper
Mirror
, the other three inmates are said to have been the Hessian's wife and two friends.
The perpetrators asked the tourists to open the vehicle doors, but the driver locked them before reversing the car 100 meters and crashing into a wall, the police said.
German shot dead in South Africa: perpetrators flee without loot
One of the perpetrators then opened fire and hit the man from Hesse through the windshield in the upper body.
The perpetrators then fled without taking anything.
The man died at the scene of the crime.
