A dozen residences for LGBT seniors, called "diversity houses", are planned and could see the light of day in the coming years.
On Wednesday, the department of Seine-Saint-Denis announced that it had given its approval for the establishment in one of its municipalities of an "inclusive habitat" dedicated to aging homosexuals.
At the origin of this initiative, the association Les Audacieux & les Audacieux, founded five years ago for a former director of Ehpad, Stéphane Sauvé.
At the end of September, it was the municipal council of Lyon which unanimously approved the creation of an LGBT residence in the district of Croix-Rousse (4th) for people over the age of 55

or even “hetero-allies”

The city is banking on an inauguration in December 2024. A first in France.
