The Pfaffinger municipal council spoke about this at its meeting.
Pfaffing - City Councilor Max Wegmaier (UBG) took up the topic and asked whether there were "ideas for saving energy" for the community.
Mayor Josef Niedermeier (FWF) pointed out that more than 90 percent of the street lamps have already been converted to more economical LED technology.
After all, it was possible to reduce annual consumption from 58,000 to 35,000 kilowatt hours.
In the next step, added managing director Christian Thomas, switching off at night could be an issue.
He has already talked about this with the electricity supplier, Bayernwerk, and would now like to know a period of time, which he has not yet been given by the councillors.
Therefore, the mayor promised that they wanted to "prepare something".
In the case of public buildings, the scope is limited, but “we are concerned”.
Municipal councilor Tobias Forstner (ÜWG) suggested further steps, even if it "may hurt now".
He himself had already made many suggestions in the past, "none of them have been implemented," he regretted.
The mayor refused to switch off the emergency lighting in the school, saying it was a "liability issue" and it was foreseeable that nobody would want to be held accountable".
