Running away from conflict is often perceived as a fault.
However, seeking to avoid them is rather natural, especially if we stick to the etymology of the word conflict, suggests Nadège Guidou, doctor of work psychology in Annecy (Haute-Savoie).
From the Latin "conflictus", it means fight, shock, or "confligere" which means to hit.
Avoiding it would therefore be “rather healthy because it hurts” explains the psychologist.
However, she advises, you have to ask yourself what type of conflict you are dealing with.
