Today, in the city of Khan Sheikhoun in the liberated southern countryside of Idlib, the communications and mail centers are reopened, which are back in service in Idlib Governorate, after stopping them in 2014, because they were completely destroyed by terrorism.
After the opening, the Minister of Communications and Technology, Eng. Iyad Al-Khatib, explained in a statement to reporters that after the rehabilitation of the Khan Sheikhoun Communication Center and the launch of its services, work has resumed in many public services and facilities in the city and its countryside, which were liberated by the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army from terrorism, noting that the center that was launched Its services today, with a capacity of 2,000 telephone numbers and 256 internet portals, come as an urgent necessity to serve about 2,000 families who have returned to their homes in the city, and to encourage the rest of the displaced families to return to them.
The Minister of Communications and Technology pointed out that the ministry plans soon to expand the center's telephone networks and internet portals, to meet the citizens' needs for other telecommunications services, pointing out that there are two Syriatel cellular stations that are working to secure cellular coverage of the city around the clock, with preparations for the installation of a new cellular station in city at the end of the year.
In turn, the Director General of the Syrian Telecom Company, Eng. Seif El-Din Hassan, indicated that the return of telecommunications and Internet services to the city of Khan Sheikhoun would activate the work of government agencies and institutions in the governorate, linking them with each other and with the various relevant government agencies, institutions and departments, explaining that the Khan Sheikhoun Center has become It is ready to receive citizens and provide its services to them, after completing the rehabilitation of its infrastructure, providing it with the necessary technical equipment, and re-extending its ground networks in the city.
The Director of Idlib Post, Safwan Salaho, confirmed that the Khan Sheikhoun Post Center is concerned with providing a package of services such as instant postal transfers of all kinds, in addition to the services of issuing all civil registry documents and a non-working document, and the ATM service will soon be introduced to the real estate bank, which will reduce a lot of problems. The burdens on the people who previously had to travel to Hama Governorate to obtain it.
The inauguration was attended by the governor of Idlib, Thaer Salhab, the secretary of the Idlib branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Ahmad al-Najjar, the director of the Hama Communications branch, the directors of the technical and operational management of the Syrian Telecom Company, and administrative and civil activities.
