Long-lost warm popularity

Family members take care, care and comfort by the side, as simple as handing a glass of water and covering a quilt, are already the most powerful support for the relatives on the sickbed; no matter how advanced the technology is, hold hands and pass the message through the palm of your hand.

Family caring, caring and comforting by the side, as simple as handing a glass of water and covering a quilt, are already the most powerful support for the relatives on the sickbed; no matter how advanced the technology is, hold hands and convey warmth through the palm of your hand , that sense of realism cannot be given by smartphone video calls.

We all know that ─ family members can visit the hospital in person, which is always the most effective medicine for patients!

Written by: Poon Yan-wing, Chief Nursing Administration Manager, Hospital Authority (HA)

Since the announcement of the adjustment of the visiting arrangements of public hospitals last week, we have been surrounded by a warm popularity, which is from the long-lost popularity of the patient's family. Family members, whether they are patients or their family members, show a satisfying and warm smile. This warmth also brings motivation and positive energy to the frontline medical staff!

As the epidemic situation stabilized, the HA also seized the opportunity to adjust visit arrangements to meet the needs of family and friends visiting patients while balancing the need for infection control.

Since last Friday, the HA has adjusted the visiting arrangements of non-emergency wards and departments in 26 public hospitals. Patients are classified according to their risk levels. Among them, patients with lower risk of infection have been booked for visits from twice a week to one a day. During the hourly visit, up to three family members can be arranged to visit in turn; as for patients with a higher risk of infection, although the visit will be maintained twice a week, the number of family members visited will be increased to two.

However, visitors still need to hold a negative nucleic acid test certificate within 48 hours and meet the "vaccine passport".

Many family members of patients are satisfied with the HA’s adjustment to the visiting arrangements of non-acute wards and departments in 26 public hospitals. The HA will closely monitor the actual situation. If the process goes smoothly, we will expand the new arrangements to other wards as soon as possible, and try our best to serve the patients. Bring greater convenience to family members; at the same time, the HA will balance the need for infection control.

Over the past few days, I have visited several hospitals to learn about the operation of the visit. I am happy to see that the family members are very satisfied with the new arrangement. "Of course I am happy to be able to visit my family more!" What comforts me is that many family members have expressed their understanding of our infection prevention measures. "Epidemic prevention is always the most important thing. I believe that people who come to visit will cooperate well." "I don't want my relatives to be infected with the new crown virus in the hospital. !" "Doctors, nurses and staff, thank you for your hard work!"

The family's "Thank you!" can be said to be the biggest motivation for every frontline medical staff.

Here, I sincerely thank my colleagues for their input and cooperation.

Since the announcement of the new arrangement, colleagues in the ward have to call the family members quickly, and at the same time ensure the smooth flow of visits in the ward; it is conceivable that their workload has greatly increased, but colleagues have tried their best to assist and cooperate with the new arrangement, and try their best to meet the needs of the patients and their needs. needs of family members.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the co-workers in the ward. It is only because of their hard work that we can increase the opportunity for family members to visit the sick.

We understand that patients and families want more flexible visiting arrangements in public hospitals.

The HA will closely monitor the actual situation of the adjustment of the visit arrangement. If the process goes smoothly, we will extend the new arrangement to other wards as soon as possible to consider the adjustment and relaxation at different stages in the future.

Although the epidemic has stabilized, we must strike a balance between "responding to the epidemic" and "adjusting services" to provide appropriate arrangements and treatment for different patients.

Having experienced five waves of epidemics, we have accumulated valuable experience. In the face of the unpredictable epidemic situation, the HA has not dared to relax, and has maintained flexibility and flexibility to prepare and respond to the best.

We once again call on everyone to be absolutely vigilant about the epidemic, and to maintain the highest vigilance at all times; citizens who have not yet completed the vaccination should be vaccinated as soon as possible to strengthen the protection of themselves and those around them, especially parents should arrange for their children to be vaccinated as soon as possible.

The fight against the epidemic must rely on the unity of the public to prevent the epidemic from rebounding again.

"Hong Kong 01" "01 Clinic", in cooperation with the Hospital Authority, publishes a column "Garden Tour" written by medical staff every Wednesday.

Apricot Forest.

"Xinglin" comes from the story of Dong Feng, a famous doctor in the Three Kingdoms era. Later generations praised medical care as "Xinglin". Five people from Xinglin from the Hospital Authority led the garden to visit Xinglin Grand View Garden. A little bit of reason.
