Deprivation of parental authority requested
He also demanded the forfeiture of parental authority over his four children, now aged six to 11, to "
facilitate the life of the victim and the children
".

trauma of a woman and children

constantly, every day, speak to their mother about what their father did
.
On July 7, 2019, they witnessed the attempted slaughter of their mother, Amandine, at their home in Margency.
Two years earlier, she had settled in this village of Val-d'Oise to get away from her violent ex-spouse.
During yet another argument over his drinking, he grabs a bread knife and aims for the neck.
Miraculously, the victim comes out with a month of total incapacity for work and post-traumatic stress syndrome.

I regret that my children attended the scene.
I do not intend to take it out on the individual (Amandine, editor’s note) in any way … And I decided to take charge of my alcohol problem
, ”said by way of last words the accused, looking contrite, contrasting with his attitude the previous days.
Accused's indifference
During the two and a half days of the trial, Diabel Faye showed casualness, even provocation.
Domestic violence?

It's been eight years since it happened
," he said on Tuesday, mimicking quotation marks, evacuating the facts which earned him to be sent back to an assize court.
His alcoholism?

It's a bit exaggerated, I don't drink that much
”.
However, his criminal record contains several mentions of arrest in a state of intoxication.
On the day of the events, the analyzes revealed 2.3 grams per liter of blood.
Living at his mother's home in Vendée, he was passing through the Paris region and had to return there with his two eldest daughters.
Faced with her drunkenness, Amandine changes her mind.
Diabel Faye gets carried away and attacks him.
During the trial, he was unable to hide his hatred of the victim, described as "
deep moron
" or "
mutant boar
" during his interrogation on the merits.
As soon as a question displeases him, he takes refuge behind the formula “
I don't prefer to talk about it too much
” or “
it's personal
”.
On the facts, he says he was the victim of an attack on the part of his ex-spouse who, according to him, was trying to deprive him of his children.

While he faces life imprisonment, the accused "
thinks of going out next spring

The jury retired to deliberate in the early afternoon.
