Mexican actor Pablo Lyle has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter after fatally beating a 63-year-old man in Miami, Florida.
"The members of the jury determined that the defendant is guilty of the involuntary manslaughter of Juan Ricardo Hernández," was heard during the hearing on Tuesday.
Visibly tense, the 35-year-old actor received the verdict from Judge Marisa Tinkler, in which the victim's relatives were also present.
On the afternoon of March 31, 2019, after a family vacation, the interpreter was heading with his family to the Miami, Florida airport, when a traffic altercation worsened.
In the images of the security cameras, it is observed how the actor hits a man, who is lying on the ground.
The victim, of Cuban origin, died four days after the attack due to the consequences of "blunt trauma to the head."
It was then that the Miami authorities forced Lyle to return to the United States.
The US Attorney's Office has assured the jury that the victim's last words were: "Please don't hurt me", before falling and fatally hitting himself.
The actor's lawyers focused his strategy on the fact that his client only wanted to protect his family and that it was the first time that he had been involved in a situation like that.
On the advice of his lawyers, the actor decided not to testify during his trial.
After knowing the verdict, the litigants have now asked the magistrate to take into account that Lyle has been under house arrest for three and a half years, as well as the possibility of paying bail.
The judge has set the delivery date of the sentence report between October 26 and 28.
The sentence that could be imposed on the actor, according to Judge Marisa Tinkler, is between 9 and 50 years in prison.
The jury was made up of six people and reached the verdict after a day of deliberations.
Before stepping on stage, Lyle shone on the catwalks as an underwear model and married
influencer
Ana Araujo.
Years later, in his beginnings as an actor, he was a recurring face in youth soap operas, but his big break came with the movie
Mirreyes vs Godínez
, which paradoxically was released in 2019, a year that marked the success and fall from grace of the interpreter.
