Did Emmanuel Macron's right arm lead his superiors on a boat?
Suspected of a conflict of interest because of his family ties with the Italian-Swiss shipowner MSC, the secretary general of the Élysée, Alexis Kohler, was indicted on September 23 for "illegal taking of interests".
Information that was confirmed by the National Financial Prosecutor's Office (PNF) on October 3, in a press release.
“The Kohler affair” is not new.
In 2018, an investigation was opened after the anti-corruption association Anticor filed a complaint against Alexis Kohler for “illegal taking of interests”, “influence peddling”, “corruption” and “failure to declare interest in the High Authority for Transparency in Public Life (HATVP)”.
This had been dismissed in 2019 because the elements collected did not allow "
to characterize the offenses initially suspected
", according to the national financial prosecutor's office.
The investigations had nevertheless been relaunched…
