A SpaceX rocket and spacecraft blasted off Wednesday with an international crew of astronauts, including the first Native American woman to reach orbit and the first Russian cosmonaut to travel on an American spacecraft in nearly 20 years.
Liftoff occurred at noon Eastern Time at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The astronauts, aboard their SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, will spend the day flying freely through orbit before docking with the International Space Station around 5 p.m. ET on Thursday.
