The police said today (5th) that they received a report from a 38-year-old woman, alleging that she had an argument with a 48-year-old man at a bar in Mong Kok on August 6 this year, and was assaulted by the other side with her hands.
The case was handed over to the Kowloon West Regional Crime Squad for follow-up. After investigation and legal advice, officers arrested the man on suspicion of common assault last Thursday (29th).
The arrested man, an off-duty police officer, has been suspended. He has been charged with one count of "common assault". The case will appear in the Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (6th) morning.
The Police stressed that the Police Force attaches great importance to the conduct of its officers, and the Police Force will not tolerate or condone any illegal acts committed by any officer, and will definitely deal with them strictly.
