Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the instrument of ratification of the agreements on the accession of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions to the composition of the Russian Federation.
According to the Russia Today website, the Russian President appointed governors at the head of the four regions: Denis Pushilin, governor of the Donetsk Republic, Leonid Pasichnik at the head of the Lugansk People's Republic, Vladimir Saldo, governor of Kherson region, and Yevgeny Balitsky, governor of Zaporozhye region.
The State Duma Committee on State Structure and Government Legislation approved earlier this week draft constitutional laws by accepting these four regions in the strength of the Russian Federation.
It is scheduled that the four regions will be fully integrated, during the transitional period that will last until 2026, when the armed forces of the new regions will be incorporated into the Russian forces, and legislative rules that contradict the Russian constitution will not be applied.
