Tiger Woods will be part of the USA Ryder Cup squad in "
one way or another
" for the 2023 edition in Rome, captain Zach Johnson has said.
Woods, 46, has appeared in three majors this year after a car accident in February 2021 nearly cost him his right leg.

The 15-time Major champion finished 47th at the Masters in April, dropped out due to pain after the third round of the PGA Championship in May and missed the cut at the British Open in July - his last start.
Woods has appeared in eight Ryder Cups and was vice-captain in 2016.

Given who he is and what he represents, I can tell you right now that I don't know if he will be here next year, but he will be part of this team in some way.
Johnson told reporters on Tuesday.
It already is, practically.
I can't say he likes the Ryder Cup.
He made it a priority for him and certainly for Team USA.
He wants to be part of it as best he can.
Obviously he's been through some tough times lately but he and I will be in constant communication.
He has big ideas.
He is excellent at encouraging, he is always positive.

The United States defeated Europe 19-9 in the 2021 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits, Wisconsin. The 2023 edition will be held at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome from September 25-October 1.
