The Committee for the Defense of Palestinian Prisoners and Detainees in Israeli Occupation Prisons organized today a solidarity stand in support of the hunger strikers in the occupation prisons, in front of the office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Damascus.
During the vigil, the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation was handed a memorandum in which the participants demanded to intervene to save the lives of the hunger strikers and put pressure on the Zionist occupation to stop the arrest of Palestinians, without relying on a clear and explicit indictment.
The participants also called for working to release the prisoners Nasser Abu Hamid and the child Ahmed Al-Manasra and Isra Al-Jaabis, and to end the isolation file of the prisoners in the occupation’s prisons in an arbitrary and criminal manner. To determine his health condition and ensure that he receives the necessary treatment.
The participants clarified that the conflict that the captive movement is waging every day with the Israeli prison administration is a struggle to raise its voice to the whole world and tell it about the extent of the prisoners’ suffering and put it in a picture of all the terrorist abuses and violations practiced by the administration of these prisons, in addition to demanding their right to freedom and their release. .
Deputy Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation in Syria Andrea Heath said in a statement to SANA: that the committee seeks to ensure that the prisoners enjoy family visits and inform the family of their children’s health condition, in addition to the committee’s delegates, including the medical team, ensuring that the health conditions of the hunger strikers are met and that the health conditions of the hunger strikers are respected. Their dignity, noting that the committee is impartial and humane and encourages dialogue to reach solutions to avoid the deterioration of the prisoners' health condition.
A number of leaders and representatives of Palestinian factions and cultural and social events participated in the stand.
