Only one direct candidate has been determined for the 2023 state election in constituency 111.

The SPD has named a preferred candidate, the CSU MP is still silent.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – Florian Streibl wants to do it again: The parliamentary group leader of the Free Voters in the Bavarian state parliament will stand up again for his party.

A few days ago he was nominated for the state elections in autumn 2023 as a direct candidate in constituency 111.

In addition to the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, this also includes some communities in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

State election 2023 in Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen: parties looking for candidates

The other parties represented in the state parliament have not yet officially committed themselves.

When asked by our newspaper, almost all district chairmen kept silent.

The SPD, on the other hand, lets the cat out of the bag.

The Social Democrats will again nominate a direct candidate, as district chairman Klaus Barthel reveals: Benedikt Hoechner is the name of the preferred candidate of the SPD board members of the districts of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen and Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

SPD has preferred candidates: A 33-year-old from Murnau should run

The 33-year-old Hoechner has been leading the Murnau SPD local association for a few days.

"So far I have not known that there will be an opposing candidate," says Barthel.

Four years ago, Robert Kühn got 4.9 percent of the first votes for the SPD.

He is now the mayor of Bad Wiessee.

Hoechner, who is still relatively unknown politically, is to be nominated at the nomination meeting at the end of October.

CSU before the state election: Will Martin Bachhuber run again?

There is still a lack of clarity in the CSU: Martin Bachhuber does not want to say anything about a renewed candidacy.

The Bad Heilbrunner has been in the Maximilianeum since 2008.

It was speculated again and again that the almost 67-year-old no longer wanted to compete.

Nothing is certain at the moment.

Inwardly, says Bachhuber, "I've actually already made the decision".

But he doesn't want to comment yet.

He won the direct mandate with 38.4 percent of the vote.

Greens: Hans Urban sits in the state parliament – the party leader is silent on a possible candidacy

Hans Urban sits in the state parliament for the Greens.

Whether the Eurasburger will go into the race again as a direct candidate cannot be elicited from the district chairman Juliane Fechner: "We will prepare for the election, but first discuss it internally," she says.

She does not give a name or a date.

"You still have to be patient," said the Tölzerin.

Urban himself said to our newspaper in the summer of whether he was aiming for a second term: "I can certainly imagine it." The MP made headlines because of a legal dispute with a Google employee: the Eurasburger had claimed on his private property being hit by a Google Street View driver.

Ultimately, Urban himself sat in the dock:

He was fined for coercion and false suspicion.

In the 2018 state election, Urban ran as a direct candidate and received 20.8 percent of the first votes.

He entered the state parliament via the list of the Greens.

FDP before the state elections: "Help shape Bavaria" - direct candidate is wanted

A good year before the state elections, the FDP sounds quite self-confident.

"We aim to help shape Bavaria," says district chairman Simon Roloff.

Accordingly, it would be clear for the Liberals to go into the election campaign with a direct candidate.

"There are already applicants," says Roloff, who, however, refers to pending discussions in the management team.

“We will present and nominate the candidate at the end of October or beginning of November.” Most recently, Fritz Haugg stood for the Liberals.

He received 4.5 percent of the first votes.

AfD wants to “of course” put up direct candidates

According to a spokesman for the district board, the AfD would “of course” also want to put up a direct candidate in constituency 111.

Whether it's again Dr.

Anne Cyron, who has been in the state parliament since 2018?

"The assembly meeting will decide that," said the AfD spokesman.
