Streich infected with Corona before the Europa League game

Coach Christian Streich tested positive for the corona virus one day before SC Freiburg's home game in the Europa League against FC Nantes.

According to the current status on Thursday (9 p.m. / RTL +), the 57-year-old will not be sitting on the Freiburg bench, said an SC spokesman on Wednesday.

Freiburg – For the press conference before the game, Streich will be connected from home on Wednesday afternoon.

First, the SWR reported on Streich's corona infection.

After two wins from two games so far, the Baden Bundesliga team is at the top of Group G with six points.

Coach Urs Fischer from Bundesliga leader 1. FC Union Berlin will also be absent from his club’s European Cup game on Thursday (6.45 p.m. / RTL +) due to a corona infection.

The 56-year-old Swiss will be represented by his assistant Markus Hoffmann in the game at Malmö FF.
