Dießen – Bernhard Holzer doesn't have the license to kill, of course, but at least the man from Dießen issued himself the license to shoot a 007 fan film.

His action-packed mini-strip "Truthseeker" about the young James Bond in German and English versions has already reached around 6,000 views on YouTube.

In the best James Bond manner, Bernhard Holzer shoots and fights his way through the film as the main actor, for which he is also responsible for the screenplay, direction, editing, music and production.

The 23-year-old has already proven that he is a multi-talent with his last short film "Collapsing Timelines", for which, as reported in KREISBOTEN, he won German and international prizes in the category "Best Science Fiction Film".

In "Truthseeker," young James Bond pursues a hit squad on a quest to join the elite Secret Service and prevent a terrorist attack in London.

Whether he succeeds and eventually becomes an MI6 agent is left to the viewer's imagination.

Because Holzer's Bond debut is only a trailer, and he makes it dependent on the public's response to whether it will become a 20-minute fan film.

A trailer with spectacular scenes is usually cut from a finished film as an "appetizer" to lure the audience into the cinema.

Bernhard Holzer dared to do the reversal as an experiment that seems to be successful.

At least what the number of clicks and positive comments show.

Holzer also shows that a lot of things in film are illusions.

Because of his mini-budget, of course, he and his crew could not fly to London.

So he quickly redecorated the square in front of the maypole in Dießener Mühlstraße on the computer for a scene in London.

With a British flag, a double-decker bus and a tube sign at the entrance to the underground car park.

Only the original English telephone box, which normally serves as a swap library, is genuine.

From here, Holzer-Bond telephoned Q, the head of the British Secret Service's Miracle Weapons Division.

Bernhard Holzer provides a glimpse into his bag of tricks, behind the scenes and the creation of the soundtrack in his accompanying films on YouTube.

The funny "outtakes" or blunders during the shooting should not be missing either.

Holzer's kissing scene with his private Bond girl Heidi Wolf, who plays along and mimes a mysterious Vera, is particularly amusing.

In general, many friends and acquaintances took part in the crew and the acting team of the no-budget film, including Peter Kaun from the Viktualienmarkt in Dießen and Schondorf as the villain with a submachine gun.

Filming in Dießen and the Ammersee region lasted ten days.

Diessen Kindl

Bernhard Holzer is a real Dießener Kindl, went to the Carl-Orff elementary school, to the Ammersee-Gymnasium, to the secondary school in Schondorf and finally did his Abitur at the FOS.

With a heavy heart, he broke off his training as a "media designer for image and sound" at the Windach-based industrial adhesives manufacturer DELO because he preferred to creatively realize his own ideas instead of making factual industrial films.

He already did that when he was a twelve-year-old rascal.

He boldly marched into the town hall office to the then mayor Herbert Kirsch and asked for a subsidy for a film that he wanted to shoot with mom's video camera.

Kirsch gave him 200 euros for being so chutzpah and Bernhard made his first real film with friends.

There was even an acclaimed special screening for the film clique in the Dießen cinema world.

Encouraged by the politicians' doorstep election campaign, Bernhard Holzer later rang the doorbell in Starnberg and courageously asked for money "for my next film project".

Many were so amazed that they pulled out their wallets.

After three short films, the breakthrough came with the award-winning "Collapsing Timelines".

Motivated by his friend Heidi Wolf, Bernhard then acquired professional equipment with which he now made the Bond fan film.

Fan films are films inspired by a blockbuster film like Bond and made by "fans" rather than the copyright holders.

The 25 Bond films are among the most successful film series in the world and have so far grossed almost 19 billion dollars.

So that Holzer doesn't have any problems with the double-zero agent's rights holders, he clearly stated in the opening credits that this is just a fan film with no commercial intentions.

In addition to the long version of his "Young James Bond", Bernhard Holzer is currently working on the screenplay for a film which he outlines as an "inspiring drama with an ultimately positive message".

The protagonist experiences a so-called “lucid dream”.

This is consciously experienced, controlled and controlled by the sleeping person.

Of course, in addition to anxiety disorders and panic attacks, there is also a lot of action with fight scenes.

The topic does not come about by chance, but also from Bernhard's zodiac sign Pisces with the ascendant Cancer.

It stands for creative imagination and dream worlds with a special connection to the subconscious.

Bernhard Holzer is still looking for actors for this film who want to take part primarily for the joy of acting and not because of the fee.

Because as with all projects by talented but independent filmmakers, the whole thing stands or falls with the financing.

Bernhard Holzer is still not earning anything from his films and his daily bread comes from image and product videos for trade and industry.
