The activities of the third exhibition of the children's book 2022, which includes a distinguished group of cultural and artistic activities and many workshops for children, opened today at Dar Al-Assad for Culture in Lattakia.

The exhibition, which is organized by the Children's Public Library Association in cooperation with the Directorates of Culture, Social Affairs and Labor in Latakia, is attended by the Syrian General Book Organization with a variety of modern publications and discounts of up to fifty percent, in addition to publishing houses in Lattakia and Damascus, and a distinguished participation of the Iranian Cultural Center.

The exhibition, which stems from the association’s slogan, “I have the right to read,” according to Fatima Shahrour, Executive Director of the association, aims to focus on the importance of the book and to be accessible to all children wherever they are as an important source in shaping the child’s personality and developing his imagination and creativity.

The exhibition, which comes after a two-year hiatus as a result of many circumstances and challenges, including the coronavirus, Shahrour indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that it includes, in addition to children's books, many diverse cultural and artistic activities, competitions and specialized workshops related to children's literature and art presented by a group of specialists, noting the wide participation of Dor Public and private publishing.

Director of Culture in Lattakia Majd Sarim saw that the importance of the exhibition comes from its orientation to the child, who is the basis for building the human being sought by the cultural institution, in addition to its synchronization with the start of the school year and its richness with educational means, assistive games and various titles capable of attracting the child and meeting his interests and inclinations.

He strictly noted the participation of the Syrian General Book Authority in a wide pavilion containing the most important and latest publications of the Ministry of Culture presses, with the provision of large discounts to encourage the acquisition of the book, in addition to the wide participation of various publishing houses, which creates a diversity in the titles presented and puts in front of the child many options in addition to cultural events And the artwork that accompanies the exhibition, which creates a cultural movement that attracts the child.

For his part, Ali Reza Fadavi, the cultural attaché of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lattakia, drew attention to the importance of these events in deepening relations between the two friendly peoples, pointing to the keenness on distinguished participation through the Iranian pavilion, which includes a variety of children's books and educational books that aim to improve children's skills and raise their level of education. Their scientific, educational and cognitive level.

In turn, Sriana Ghaibour, agent of Rabie Publishing House in Lattakia, who participated in a pavilion of more than 150 titles in different languages ​​“Arabic, English and Armenian”, in addition to a group of educational games, saw the importance of the exhibition, which contributes to staying in contact with diverse and large segments of children, with the house keen to provide purposeful educational content. and instructive.

The first day of the exhibition, which continues until the tenth of this month, witnessed the signing of the dress story by the writer Amira Salama.
