The building attached to the Justice Palace was opened today in the neighborhood of Jam’iyyat al-Zahraa in Aleppo, which includes notary public departments, Sharia courts, magistrates’ and civil courts with their warehouses. Legal works and their archiving, with the aim of relieving pressure and burdens on auditors, lawyers and judges.

In the building, the first work project for people with intellectual disabilities was launched, the first of its kind in Aleppo, and the second in Syria for the Ministry of Justice, according to the contract signed between the ministry and the Syrian Special Olympics Foundation, with the aim of integrating this segment into society.

The Minister of Justice, Judge Counselor Ahmed Al-Sayed, said in a statement to reporters that the opening of the building attached to the Justice Palace in Aleppo, which has withstood terrorism, will provide an easy and smooth review for the reviewers from the governorate and lawyers, and comfort in the judges' offices.

Al-Sayed pointed out that the building is equipped with computers and networks, which in the next few days will lead to the electronic issuance of agencies that will eliminate the process of forgery at all, and automate the judicial work in the courts in line with the government's directions in digitizing the work of government institutions.

He explained that the launch of the first work project for people with mental disabilities and special needs came as a translation of the agreement signed between the Ministry and the Syrian Special Olympics Foundation, and to serve this segment of society, which receives all the attention and care from the government, and thus will constitute a model for all public authorities in the future.

The first attorney general in Aleppo, Ammar Mawladi, explained that the opening of the building is a very important step in the course of judicial work, as it achieves satisfaction for the auditors and relieves overcrowding, noting that the building currently includes the notary’s department, which consists of an issuance hall, a documentation hall, and another for attestation and warehouses. The ten Sharia courts, the first Sharia judge, and the supporting Sharia judge, and soon the Magistrate and Civil Courts will be activated, thus obtaining the necessary documents within a short time based on automation programs.

The National Director of the Syrian Special Olympics, Talal Al-Bunni, drew attention to the importance of launching the first project for people with mental disabilities in the justice of Aleppo, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice to employ people with disabilities and integrate them into society, reduce the burden on families and coordinate with the rest of the ministries to generalize this experience to the governorates.

After that, the Minister of Justice inspected the main building of the Justice Palace, and participated in the celebration of children with intellectual disabilities, where artistic paragraphs and folkloric songs from the Aleppo heritage were presented, in cooperation with the Al-Rajaa Charitable Association, and a number of NGOs, and documentaries were shown about the destruction of the old Palace of Justice as a result of terrorism.

The Minister of Justice had received the participants in the bicycle path that started from the countryside of Damascus as part of the (No to Bullying) campaign launched by the Syrian Special Olympics Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, the first in the Arab world.

The opening ceremony was attended by the governor of Aleppo, Hussein Diab, and the secretary of the Aleppo branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, Ahmed Mansour.
