Occupied Jerusalem-SANA
The Palestinian Ministry of Information renewed its call on the international community to stop the crimes of the Israeli occupation, and to provide international protection for the Palestinian people in general and for journalists in particular.
The ministry confirmed, in a statement reported by Wafa Agency today, that the persistence of the occupation authorities in pursuing and attacking Palestinian media professionals is an inevitable result of the impunity of the occupation, calling on the UN Security Council to implement its resolutions, especially Resolution No. 2222 on the protection of journalists.
The ministry called on the International Federation of Journalists to take immediate action to put pressure on the occupation, whose forces facilitate the targeting of journalists, and to silence every voice, lens and platform that transmits the crimes of the occupation, stressing that they are crimes that will not be subject to a statute of limitations.
A Palestinian was martyred and dozens were injured today, including a journalist and cameraman on Palestine TV, as a result of the occupation forces' attack on them in the town of Deir al-Hatab, east of Nablus in the West Bank.
