The two brothers accused of killing a Mexican migrant and injuring another in Texas are released on bail

Brothers Mike and Mark Sheppard, accused of killing an immigrant last week at the Texas border, were released Monday night after posting $250,000 bail each, the county sheriff's department reported today. from Hudspeth to local media.

The suspects, both in their 60s, were arrested last Thursday on involuntary manslaughter charges in the September 27 shooting death of a migrant south of Sierra Blanca, Texas.

A migrant was also injured in the shooting, but no charges have been filed in connection with the woman's case.

The Hudspeth County Sheriff's Office confirmed to the El Paso Times today that the brothers were released after appearing in court Monday

on $250.00 bond.

The dead immigrant was identified by his family as Jesús Iván Sepúlveda Martínez, 22, from Durango, Mexico.

The shooting occurred near Sierra Blanca on Interstate 10, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) from the Mexican border.
