(CNN Business) --

Getting on Fortune's most powerful women list has gotten a little more close this year.

In recognition of the globalization of business, Fortune decided to merge its national and international lists of women corporate leaders.

In some ways, though, this year's top 10 list is similar to last year's, with a few exceptions.

CVS Health President and CEO Karen Lynch ranks No. 1 on the Fortune 500 and Global 500 companies led by women for the second year in a row.

During his tenure, taking office in February 2021, the company's revenue grew 9% and its stock price (up 42%) far outperformed the S&P 500. CVS, meanwhile, remained a central player in the fight against covid, and Lynch implemented a mental health program to help prevent suicide among his Aetna members.

Behind Lynch are again Julie Sweet, president and CEO of Accenture (nº 2);

Jane Fraser, CEO of Citi (#3);

and Mary Barra, president and CEO of GM (No. 4).

But the No. 5 spot went to Jessica Tan, co-CEO and CEO of Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd, which is the 25th largest company in the world.

Fortune notes that despite China's covid lockdowns and "consumer restlessness," Ping An, under Tan, beat revenue expectations in the first half of 2022 and is aiming to achieve net neutrality. carbon in 2030.

Another new addition to the top 10 list, relative to last year's national Fortune list, is Emma Walmsley, CEO of global pharmaceutical company GSK.

She spun off the $13 billion consumer health unit of her company.

"This leaves GSK, now exclusively focused on the pharmaceutical sector, with plenty of cash to invest in promising drugs and vaccines," notes Fortune.

Two female executives, meanwhile, fell out of the top 10, compared to last year: Thasunda Brown Duckett, president and CEO of TIAA, and Ruth Porat, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Alphabet.

But neither has fallen very far, ranking 11th and 12th, respectively.

Here are the top 10 female executives on Fortune's Most Powerful Women of 2022 list:
