The CGT is calling for a strike in all nurseries in Nice on Thursday 6 October.
An initiative that is part of a national movement, with other nursery strikes being planned across the country on the same day.
Believing that the negotiations with the city's childcare service have not responded to their demands, the union is calling for "
decent working conditions
", "
the recruitment of agents meeting the immediate needs in the structures
", or even "
compliance with the supervision rate for children
”.

A rally is also in parallel, at 9:30 a.m., Place Garibaldi, on the edge of the old town.
Contacted, the CGT estimates that 26 of the 29 nurseries in the city should be closed during the movement.
“We sent our notice to the town hall and we asked to be received as a delegation.
But as usual, we have not received any response”,
regrets a representative.
As the town hall did not respond to our numerous requests, it is not known whether means have been put in place to ensure the reception of children in crèche despite the strike.
