During Yair Lapid's speech at the ceremony, Lapid tried to refer to a Jewish symbol - but made a mistake in a particularly critical detail • Watch the Prime Minister's embarrassing mistake

Embarrassment at the memorial ceremony for the victims of the Yom Kippur War:

Prime Minister Yair Lapid said this morning (Thursday) he tried to add Jewish symbols to his speech but in fact the attempt failed but he made a mistake and came under fire on social media.

During his speech, Lapid said that "when thousands of worshipers were torn from the synagogue and had to replace their tallit with uniforms and their tefillin with their rifles, they did not ask who was right-handed and who was left-handed, who was fasting and who was not fasting. The religious who left the synagogue, and the secular who taught his children to ride a bicycle put on uniforms and left Nablus to Nablus to the battle."

But Lapid apparently forgot that on Yom Kippur - you don't put on tefillin.

Lapid's statement caused outrage throughout the network and many came out against him with criticism and harsh statements.

"Hollow and lacking in basic knowledge," wrote Lapid, "It is very sad that we have come to a situation where the prime minister of Israel does not know the most basic Jewish tradition," another surfer wrote.
