Biden announced: "I will grant amnesty to those convicted of minor cannabis offenses"
The move by the President of the United States comes a few weeks before the mid-term elections for Congress, in which the Democrats hope to gain a majority over the Republican Party.
There are thousands of people with federal marijuana possession convictions who could be denied employment opportunities," Biden said.

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, announced today (Thursday) a call for citizens who were previously convicted of minor offenses of possessing cannabis.
This, a few weeks before the midterm elections for Congress.
"I have directed the Attorney General to issue pardons to those who meet the conditions. There are thousands of people with federal convictions for possession of marijuana that could deprive them of employment opportunities," Biden said.
At the same time, Biden asked the US Ministries of Health and Justice to examine the classification of the dangers of cannabis in the federal law. Biden emphasized that although the regulations change over the years, the restrictions in the areas of trade, as well as sales to minors, must be maintained.
