Leis Omeish's rescue came at the last minute for the baby.

Now the newborn got to know his rescuer personally.

Fritzlar – First aid courses can help save lives.

The story of Leis Omeish proves this: a few weeks ago, the 14-year-old helped Kerstin Münch, who was heavily pregnant at the time, with his prudent manner when he spontaneously provided first aid and arranged for an ambulance to be called.

The pregnant woman was then delivered in the Hospital of the Holy Spirit by an emergency caesarean section, which saved her and her daughter Sophia Tanja's lives.

Kerstin Münch was looking for the boy because she wanted to say thank you.

With the help of the HNA article, she found him and was now able to visit her rescuer with baby and husband Joachim.

"They were moving moments," says Leis.

"When she said that I saved her life, I cried." The doctor told her that time was very short.

Five minutes later and mother and child would probably not have survived, reports hna.de.

Rescuers from Fritzlar: Leis prepared a course for the German Red Cross

The two talked for an hour and reviewed everything.

Leis reports how he came to the rescue back then.

As a passenger from the car, he saw a heavily pregnant woman sitting on the side of the road and writhing in pain.

It went very badly for her.

So he asked his father to stop the car immediately and got out to help.

He spoke to the pregnant woman and placed her in the stable side position, just as he had learned.

He also asked a passerby, Silvia Ganz, to call an ambulance because he didn't have a cell phone at the time.

Leis stayed with the pregnant woman and tried to keep her approachable.

He had also learned that a few months ago in the first aid course at the Anne Frank School.

This course, which the school offered together with the German Red Cross, probably played a large part in the eighth grader acting so quickly and prudently.

"One is simply sensitized and luckily then also knows what to do in an emergency," he says.

Great willingness to help: Leis from Fritzlar wants to become a doctor

He was amazed at how many cars just drove by, even though they could see what was happening on the sidewalk just like him.

After the ambulance arrived, Leis drove away with his father to pick up his sister from kindergarten.

He then had no more contact with the woman, nor did he know who she was.

Leis then told a friend about the experience.

His parents had read about it in the newspaper and pointed out to him that Kerstin Münch was looking for him and that he could get in touch with her.

Said and done.

Kerstin Münch is happy to be able to thank her rescuer.

They were received very friendly by the family and had a great time there.

The family comes from Damascus in Syria and came to Germany seven years ago.

“Everyone is really nice,” says Münch.

Leis Omeish is an ambitious young man who dreams of graduating from high school and becoming a doctor.

He has already demonstrated his great willingness to help.
