More than 100 vehicles have been involved in an operation against illegal races in the Cartuja neighborhood of Zaragoza.
The Civil Guard and the Zaragoza Local Police have carried out a device to dismantle speed competitions and other offenses against road safety, such as driving motorcycles on one wheel, spinning or skidding, which had become common in a polygon of the Aragonese capital.
The investigation, which has lasted more than three months, has culminated in a large police operation in which 61 complaints have been filed in one night and a vehicle has been immobilized.
An illegal vehicle workshop has also been dismantled.
The investigation of the two security forces culminated last Friday, October 1, with a device in which more than 70 civil guards and local police participated, according to a joint statement from the Civil Guard and Zaragoza Local Police.
The López Soriano Technological Park, site of the illegal races, is located in the Cartuja neighborhood of the Aragonese capital.
It is located in the southern area of Zaragoza and its roads have long and wide straight lines, an ideal environment for this type of meeting.
When the agents began to appear at the polygon, there were more than a hundred people concentrated, including spectators who watched the stunts and drivers.
The agents believe that many more people could have gathered that Friday night if the police device had not truncated the plans of the participants.

The investigations began last July.
Since then, both bodies have processed more than 170 complaints against road safety and reckless driving and have identified more than 50 vehicles.
In addition to the crimes of reckless driving that are associated with illegal races – which carry prison sentences of between six months and two years and a driving ban for between one and six years – other offenses against road safety have been detected.
Some of the vehicles involved did not have insurance, nor had they passed the mandatory technical inspections.
They had also been tuned to suit racing.
Of everything investigated, six cases are already being processed as criminal conduct.
Civil Guard agents from the Aragon Traffic Research and Analysis groups participated in last Friday's device;
also of Citizen Security;
the Reserve and Security Group and the Citizen Security Unit of the Zaragoza Command.
Also members of the Operational Support Unit (UAPO) of the Zaragoza Local Police.
