Now things are getting serious with the natural pool project.

The Höhenkirchen municipal council has initiated the necessary changes to the development plan and land use plan.

Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn – At the end of April, the municipal council decided by majority to give the natural pool association a plot of land near Hirschwinkelstrasse for the construction and operation of a natural pool.

The construction management process required for this has now been initiated.

Against the votes of the CSU parliamentary group, which is opposed to a natural pool at this point, the majority of the municipal council decided to change the land use plan and the applicable development plan.

"We're starting to get started now," said Mayor Mindy Konwitschny (SPD).

Only now would the responsible authorities have to make binding statements about the construction project - for example about the specifications that exist due to the existing contaminated sites on the site.

"This is important for the protection of the population," she emphasized.

Konwitschny still said it makes sense to be able to offer the citizens a corresponding range of leisure activities at this point.

"But the next steps will show whether the natural pool can really be realized," she said.

As reported, the association has to finance and operate the natural pool itself.

Due to the contaminated sites found in the ground, it is assumed that the construction of the bath will be more complex and therefore more expensive.

Before the vote, the scope, i.e. the area that is likely to be affected by the changes, was expanded.

Because a sticking point in the planning will be the development of the pool area.

The landscape architect, who is planning the neighboring sports field, favors access via Ottobrunner Strasse.

In this case, residents of the adjacent residential area at Hirschwinkel fear traffic and parking chaos.

That is why Otto Bussjäger (UB), who, like some other local councillors, is considering access via Sportplatzstraße, suggested expanding the scope: "We should send a clear signal that an alternative access is being considered," he said.

A proposal that met with benevolence across factions.
