It's the eternal game of cat and mouse.
Wednesday evening, around 11 p.m., a police vehicle on patrol came under a dozen mortar fireworks, in the sensitive district of Les Moulins, west of Nice (Alpes-Maritimes).
Information from
Nice Matin
, confirmed this Thursday, October 6 at
Le Figaro
by the Departmental Security (DDSP).
If the police car was slightly damaged, no injuries are to be deplored and no arrests have taken place.
A few hours earlier, in the middle of the afternoon, a vast police operation had been carried out in the district, under the aegis of the prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, Bernard Gonzales, and in the presence of the mayor (LR) of Nice, Christian Estrosi.
No less than 70 national and municipal police officers had been mobilized in the area of Place des Amarylis, at the very place where, two days earlier, police officers had been taken to task during the arrest of a young dealer.
The operation was not in vain, 17 individuals having been arrested for various reasons such as violations of the legislation on narcotics or for irregular situation.
Drugs and a handgun were also seized.
