The driver of a bus briefly lost consciousness in Eching - with drastic consequences.
He rammed cars, a lantern and a tree.
Eching
– Because he had lost consciousness, a 71-year-old also lost control of his bus around 7.30 a.m. on Wednesday.
He was just coming from the A92 in Eching and heading south on Fraunhofer Strasse.
The main problem: "His gas foot pressed the gas pedal fully," said the Neufahrn police.
And so the empty bus raced at the level of the burger restaurant in a left turn, first through oncoming traffic and then over the parking lot of the restaurant.
The man regained consciousness and stopped the bus.
Before that, however, a Mercedes driver (24) was traveling in the direction of the A92 – and thus in the oncoming traffic of the bus.
The car was hit by it and thrown to the left side of the road.
A parked Opel was then hit by the bus on the right and turned 180 degrees.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
Some of the cars that were hit were completely destroyed
The "ghost bus" also hit a lantern and a tree before ramming the parked van of a sleeping 33-year-old.
All those involved in the accident were slightly injured, the bus was still drivable.
The rammed cars, on the other hand, were “sometimes totally destroyed” (police quote).
According to PI, the damage should be in the high five-digit range.
The scene of the accident was secured by the Eching fire brigade.
