The poet Nizar Qabbani is still a rich material for researchers and critics with the richness, beauty, love and national and human values ​​of his poetry.

The homeland and the woman in the poetry of Nizar Qabbani were the title of a lecture held by the Arab Cultural Center in Beit Yashout for poet and literary critic Thaer Mahfoud.

Mahfoud indicated that the poet Qabbani was patriotic to the core since his first poems, in which he sang about the beauty of nature in our country and its distinction from all the world, pointing to Qabbani's celebration of his original Arab lineage, especially in the expatriate. To his celebration of Arab championships, such as the October victory of liberation, his great sadness over the calamities and setbacks that have befallen us, and his always standing in his poetry by the Palestinian cause and all Arab issues.

Mahfoud also explained that the poet Qabbani was a supporter of women and seeks to liberate them from the outdated customs and traditions and work on their fairness and freedom. For him, the woman is not only a lover, wife, mother and sister, but rather she is half of society and is able to work, build and stand by the man in all issues of life.

The poet Mahfoud read excerpts from Qabbani's poetry in support of the issues of the homeland and women, as well as texts of his poetry in the spoken and classical dialect bearing the values ​​and principles of the poet Jasmine Nizar Qabbani, which won the satisfaction and interaction of the present critics and intellectuals.

The symposium was presented by the poet Ali Al-Zeina, who drew attention to the importance of Nizar Qabbani's poetry, despite the large number of critical studies in it.
