A festival service for Thanksgiving ends the anniversary celebrations of the monastery.
Eurasburg thanks the "place of power" for its outstanding role in the region.
Beuerberg – There were several reasons to say thank you at the celebratory mass on Sunday in the Beuerberg collegiate church of St. Peter and Paul.
Thanks for the fruits of the field were joined at the festival service by thanks for 900 years of the Beuerberg monastery.
The celebrations for the anniversary ended with the church service in the monastery village, which, as Mayor Moritz Sappl emphasized again in his celebratory speech, "turned out differently than expected, but we made the best of it".

"A gift from history": 900 years of monastic life in Beuerberg
The initially only sparsely best nave filled up quickly when the flag delegations and clubs marched in shortly before 10 a.m. on Sunday morning and set up their flags around the altar: the fire brigades from Beuerberg and Herrnhausen, the Stamm rifle club, the Beuerberg-Herrnhausen boys' club, the veterans - and reserve club Beuerberg-Herrnhausen and above all the mountain rifle company Beuerberg.
The Beuerberg brass band accompanied the service musically.
Eurasburg honors its monastery - "also a mission for the future""
In addition to the fruits of the earth, which were assembled into a colorful picture in front of the altar, "thanks are also due to what makes our place special," said Pastor Bernhard Häglsperger in his sermon, namely 900 years of monastic life.
"900 years of a monastery in one place is a great gift from history, but also a mission for the future," emphasized the priest: the mission "that Beuerberg remains a place of prayer, of faith".
And secondly, that the hospitality “which has always been a top priority in the monastery” will also be reflected in openness and a culture of welcome in the future.
"The monastery will remain a place of power," emphasizes Mayor Sappl
In his speech, Town Hall chief Sappl explained the 900-year history of the village, from the founding of the monastery by Pope Calixtus II on March 30, 1121, through the time of the Augustinians and the change to the Salesian nuns in 1843, to the current use of the monastery by the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising Reminisce.
As is well known, the monastery is currently a major construction site.
The Kreisbildungswerk has just moved in as the first user.
"Exhibition, seminar, accommodation will follow next year and the year after that," said Sappl, giving an outlook for the future.
"The monastery will remain a place of power for faith, orientation, realignment, knowledge, culture, values and care," said the mayor.
"It will continue to shape this place, the people and the development."
