Iran: Hijab protests continue, Raisi calls for confrontation with the protesters (Walla system!)

Media in Iran reported today (Friday) that the young woman Mahsa Amini, whose death in custody ignited the hijab riots throughout the country, did not die from blows to her head and body, but from a multi-system failure caused by a lack of oxygen in the brain.

On the other hand, the autopsy report of the 22-year-old did not specify whether the young woman was beaten before her death, but only the cause of death.

Amini was arrested last month by the morality police, because she wore a hijab "sloppy".

She collapsed at the police station, went upstairs and died three days later in the hospital.

Authorities claimed she had a heart attack, but according to her family, there were no medical problems.

Also, Amini's father claimed that she suffered from injuries while she was in custody, and said that he considers the police responsible for her death.

Protests throughout Iran continue for the third week.

Security forces have so far dispersed the protests with live ammunition and extreme violence, leading to the death of more than 50 people and the arrest of more than 1,500.

However, Iranians continue to take to the streets.

In homes, schools and offices they take down the pictures of the two supreme religious leaders who have ruled since the revolution - Ayatollah Khomeini and now Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Earlier this week, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei accused the United States and Israel of planning the hijab protests in the country.

This was Khamenei's first reference to the protests that have swept the country since the young woman's death.

In his words, Khamenei said that her death "breaks his heart" and described it as a "bitter incident."

However, he said that "certain people caused insecurity in the streets" and claimed that there were "riots" that were planned in advance.

He expressed firm support for the security forces, who he said were treated unfairly during the protests.
