Armenia and Azerbaijan reaffirmed their commitment to international documents in which they recognized each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Sputnik news agency quoted the press office of the Armenian Cabinet as saying in a statement published today, following talks between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, French Emmanuel Macron and European Council President Charles Michel yesterday in Prague: “Armenia and Azerbaijan reaffirmed their commitment to the UN Charter. the United Nations and the 1991 Alma-Ata Protocols establishing the Commonwealth of Independent States, by which the two sides recognized the territorial integrity and sovereignty of each other.
The statement added: The two sides confirmed that this matter will serve as a basis for the border demarcation commissions, noting that Armenia agreed to encourage a civilian mission of the European Union along the border with Azerbaijan.
The mission will start its work this month for a maximum of two months, and the statement said: "Its purpose will be to enhance trust and cooperation between the committees through their reports."
