Sobriety, a shield against cuts this winter?
While the executive has just presented its plan to reduce gas and electricity consumption over the next few months, many questions remain unanswered.
Asked by our readers in the comments of the articles, on social networks or via Google, these questions concern as much the small daily gestures to reduce their bills, the aid to pay their expenses as the energy context of this winter, more broadly.

Is it useful to turn off the devices rather than leaving them on standby?
The answer is yes !
The energy savings are substantial: "
Completely turning off our appliances rather than leaving them on standby is up to 10% savings
", calculates the French Environment and Energy Management Agency. (Ademe).
For example, a continuously connected internet box discreetly inflates the bill as much, over a year, “
as a small refrigerator
”… Small, but strong!
Same story on the side of NegaWatt, which "
works in favor of a realistic and sustainable energy transition for France
": "
the watches still represent 15% of the average electricity consumption of a dwelling
", calculates the association, calling for unplugging or shutting down devices rather than leaving them on standby.

What aid is there to renovate your home?
Public action against climate change has increased in recent years.
It involves the development of numerous aids paid by the State to French people who wish to save energy.
In terms of housing, the priority displayed by the public authorities is energy renovation.
To bring order to the accumulation of aid, the Ministry of Energy Transition set up on January 1, 2020 a unique system called MaPrimeRenov'.
MaPrimeRénov' is open to all owners, regardless of their income, whether they occupy the accommodation to be renovated or rent it to others.
The dwelling that is the subject of the renovation must have been built for
at least 15 years or for at least two years
if it is only a question of replacing an oil-fired boiler.
The amount of the premium is fixed, that is to say it is calculated according to household income and the ecological gain allowed by the work.
There are four categories: blue, yellow, purple and pink.
A very ergonomic simulator allows you to assess the amount of aid to which you are entitled for a possible project, here.
You will also find information at the France Services desk near you.
The implementation of MaPrimeRénov' has not interrupted the energy saving certificates (CEE or C2E), an aid that can be combined with MaPrimeRénov' and likely to double the amount.
A simulator allows you to quickly calculate the expected sum.

The exceptional aid is aimed at the poorest 40% of French people, or 12 million households.
Its amount is 200 euros for households with annual incomes of less than 13,310 euros (corresponding to the lowest 20%) and 100 euros for those with annual incomes between 13,310 and 18,610 euros (corresponding to the remaining 20% ).

Beyond the resource conditions, the check will only be paid to those whose accommodation is subject to housing tax and who have declared their income to the tax authorities.
This energy check, annual or exceptional, cannot be cashed at the bank.
It is exclusively reserved for the payment of electricity, gas, firewood, fuel oil or any other energy bills, as well as for certain energy renovation expenses.
The money will be paid directly into the bank account of the beneficiaries, without any action being necessary, at the end of 2022 – no precise date has been put forward by the authorities for the moment.
