There is currently even more traffic chaos than usual in Bad Tölz, especially during rush-hour traffic. According to the state building authority, nothing can be done about it in the short term.

Bad Tölz

– Both commuters and day-trippers have been feeling it since the beginning of the week: the current closure of the B472 between Reichersbeuern and Waakirchen is exacerbating the already tense traffic situation in the area.

This is why traffic jams are increasing at the neuralgic junction on the Tölzer Flinthöhe.

Would it be possible to improve something about the traffic light circuit?

The state building authority in Weilheim sees no chance for this.

Traffic jam in Bad Tölz: short-term traffic light reprogramming not possible

Drivers experience a test of patience, especially in the mornings and evenings when they drive up to Flinthöhe on the B472 from Heilbrunn.

Because it is not possible to continue straight ahead in the direction of Miesbach due to the construction site, most drivers have to turn left at the crossroads in front of the barracks main gate onto the B13 in the direction of Holzkirchen.

From the correspondingly heavily frequented left turn lane, it backs up onto the B472.

In a letter to the editors, a Kurier reader suggested extending the green phases for left-turners.

At the request of the Tölzer Kurier, Martin Herda, the department head responsible for the district at the Weilheim State Building Authority, sees no way to do so.

“We will probably have to live with this situation for another week and a half,” he says.

He points to the relatively short duration of the closure of the B472, which is scheduled to last until October 14th.

Before a traffic light is reprogrammed, you first have to observe the development of traffic flows for a few days - and until then there is only a short period of time in which the situation remains the same.

Construction site diversion and excursion traffic cause traffic jams

For a reprogramming, in the complex and heavily trafficked area on the Tölzer Flinthöhe, so many effects on other traffic routes and also on safety have to be taken into account that it cannot be implemented in the short time available.

The danger of traffic jams is exacerbated this week by the nice weather, which attracts additional excursion traffic to the Isarwinkel.

There is also a traffic jam in front of the Flinthöhen crossing on the B13 coming from Holzkirchen - especially since this route also serves as a detour in this direction.

As a small consolation for the motorists, Herda states: "With the nice weather, the construction work is progressing faster."
