According to London, Ukraine has captured 440 Russian main battle tanks since the beginning of the war
8:43 a.m.:
Much of Ukraine's military equipment consists of captured Russian equipment that is reused.
This is reported by the British Foreign Office, citing intelligence information via Twitter.
According to the report, Ukraine has captured at least 440 Russian main battle tanks and around 650 other armored vehicles since the invasion began.
"More than half of the currently deployed Ukrainian tank fleet may consist of captured vehicles," it says.
The failure of Russian troops to destroy intact equipment before retreating or surrendering reflects poor British training and combat discipline.
"With Russian formations heavily strained in several sectors and troops increasingly demoralized, Russia is likely to continue losing heavy weapons."
