"A young woman needs to know where that data can go and how it can be used," pediatrician tells Florida Women's Health Form

Student athletes in Florida must report their health status by filling out a form where, optionally, they must answer about their menstrual period.

The controversy now is because the Palm Beach school district initially required that this form be filled out online, which raised questions about where that data would go.
